Chemistry & hardware, oil and fuel

Specified against your data, not a catalogue page.

Treat rates, filter sizing, additive dosing and polishing flow are all calculated from a current oil or fuel analysis and the volume in front of us, then verified by re-sampling after commissioning. Anything we cannot specify from data, we source through technical procurement instead.

01. Deposit control

Malina CLARIS

An oil-soluble cleaning fluid that raises the solvency of the charge so existing varnish releases from internal surfaces and returns to solution, where filtration removes it.

CLARIS is dosed into the running system at a controlled treat rate and left to circulate. Because the deposit comes off surfaces gradually rather than in a slug, filters stay serviceable and the machine keeps running through the clean-up.

  • Compatible with mineral, Group II/III and PAO turbine and hydraulic fluids.
  • Dosed live, no drain, flush and refill in the majority of systems.
  • Remains in the charge as part of the working fluid after clean-up.
  • Progress tracked by MPC ΔE at 30, 60 and 90 days.
Typical application data, confirmed per system before dosing.

02. Additive replenishment

Malina REVIVE AO

An antioxidant and anti-wear package that rebuilds the depleted chemistry in a charge whose base oil is still sound.

Dosing is never a fixed percentage. We measure the shortfall by RPVOT and voltammetry, calculate the deficit against reservoir volume, and dose only what is missing, then confirm by re-test after circulation.

  • Restores phenolic and aminic antioxidant reserve.
  • Supplements anti-wear and rust-inhibition chemistry where depleted.
  • Applied only when viscosity, AN and FTIR confirm the base stock is serviceable.
  • Post-dose RPVOT recorded against the original new-oil baseline.

03. Filtration

Malina PUREFLOW

Kidney-loop purification carts and fixed skids, sized to reservoir volume and the contamination you are actually fighting.

Beta-rated depth media handles particulate. Electrostatic and charge-attraction stages capture the sub-micron degradation products that pass straight through conventional media , the material that becomes varnish.

  • Portable carts for scheduled clean-up across multiple reservoirs.
  • Fixed skids for continuous side-stream duty on critical units.
  • Differential pressure and flow instrumentation as standard.
  • Installed and commissioned live wherever the system permits.
Indicative sizing, final selection follows the reservoir survey.

04. Monitoring

Malina SENTRY

A sampling programme with a fixed slate, fixed intervals, trended limits and a named engineer who signs each report.

Optional inline instrumentation covers the parameters worth watching continuously, water activity, particle count and dielectric shift, so a step change is caught between scheduled samples rather than after them.

  • Sample kits, labels and a documented sampling procedure per point.
  • Scheduled collection; results trended against the system baseline.
  • Report includes findings, limit comparison and recommended action.
  • Escalation call on any alarm-band result, same day.

05. Dehydration

Malina HYDROGUARD

Water is the fastest route to oxidation, additive hydrolysis and rust. HYDROGUARD covers the three places it has to be dealt with: bulk removal, free-water separation, and keeping humid air out of the reservoir headspace in the first place.

  • Vacuum dehydration units for dissolved and emulsified water.
  • Coalescing separators for free water in high-ingress systems.
  • Desiccant breathers sized to reservoir breathing rate.
  • Water activity monitoring so you can prove it stayed dry.

06. Lubricants

Malina TURBOSHIELD 32 / 46

Deposit-resistant turbine and hydraulic oils for new fills and full charge-outs. Every delivery ships with a baseline certificate, viscosity, MPC, RPVOT, particle count and water , so condition trending starts on day one instead of at the first sample.

  • ISO VG 32 and 46 grades for steam, gas and hydro turbine service.
  • High oxidation stability with a long antioxidant reserve.
  • Supplied filtered to the target cleanliness code, not drum-clean.
  • Compatible with the CLARIS and REVIVE programme from first fill.

07. Fuel conditioning

Malina FUELPURE

Recirculating fuel conditioning units for stored diesel: coalescing water separation followed by staged particulate filtration, sized to tank volume and turnover.

FUELPURE draws from the tank low point, where the water and sludge actually sit, and returns conditioned fuel to the opposite end so the whole volume turns over. It runs on a tank in service, no need to take a standby set offline to clean its fuel.

  • Coalescing separation for free and emulsified water.
  • Staged filtration to an ISO 4406 target cleanliness, not a single nominal element.
  • Timer or sensor-driven operation for tanks that are rarely attended.
  • Progress verified by ASTM D2709 water and sediment and a particle count, before and after.
Indicative sizing, final selection follows the tank survey.
