Malina Nig Ltd · Lagos, Nigeria

Clean the oil. Clean the fuel. Keep the plant running.

Oil and fuel do not fail because they run out. They fail because they oxidise, pick up water and particles, and lay down deposits on the surfaces that need them most. Malina measures what is actually in your systems, cleans it, and sources what the data says you need.

01. The limits

Every decision we make is a number against a limit.

These are the published condition limits a turbine or hydraulic charge is held to. The green line is the one that matters: cross it and the fluid has left normal service. No reading is plotted here, yours comes from your own sample.

02. The failure nobody schedules

Varnish is a deposit problem long before it is an oil problem.

Thermal and oxidative stress breaks a lubricant down into degradation products. They stay dissolved while the oil is hot, then drop out on cool surfaces, servo valves, bearing journals, coolers, filters. By the time a unit trips, the deposit has been building for months.

What it actually costs you

  • Servo and control valves sticking, causing unplanned turbine trips and slow starts.
  • Bearing temperatures climbing as deposit insulates the surfaces it coats.
  • Heat exchangers and filters fouling, so cooling capacity and filter life both fall.
  • Premature oil changes, a full turbine charge dumped and replaced while still serviceable.
  • Disposal of thousands of litres of used oil that was never chemically exhausted.

Every one of those symptoms is measurable before it becomes an outage. That measurement is where a Malina programme starts.

04. Products

Chemistry and hardware, specified to the system in front of you.

Nothing here is sold blind. Every product is dosed or sized against a current oil analysis, and re-measured after commissioning.

Deposit control

Malina CLARIS

An oil-soluble cleaning fluid that dissolves existing varnish off internal surfaces and holds it in solution until filtration removes it. Runs live, at treat rate, without an outage.

Specification

Additive replenishment

Malina REVIVE AO

An antioxidant and anti-wear package that rebuilds depleted additive chemistry in turbine, hydraulic and compressor oils, dosed to the RPVOT and RULER shortfall we measure.

Specification

Filtration skids

Malina PUREFLOW

Kidney-loop purification carts and skids combining depth filtration, electrostatic deposit capture and vacuum dehydration. Sized to reservoir volume and installed live.

Specification

Monitoring

Malina SENTRY

A scheduled sampling programme with a fixed test slate, trended limits and a named engineer, plus optional inline sensors for water activity, particle count and dielectric shift.

Specification

Dehydration

Malina HYDROGUARD

Vacuum and coalescing dehydration units for systems carrying free or emulsified water, plus desiccant breathers that stop humid air entering the reservoir in the first place.

Specification

Lubricants

Malina TURBOSHIELD 32 / 46

Deposit-resistant turbine and hydraulic oils for new fills and full charge-outs, supplied with a baseline analysis certificate so trending starts from day one.

06. Results

What the numbers look like when the programme runs.

Each engagement closes with a signed report: the condition data before, the intervention, and the condition data after.

Power generation · Gas turbine

42 → 11MPC ΔE, 90 days

Varnish cleared without a charge-out

A 2 500 litre turbine lube system running in the alarm band for varnish potential was brought back inside limits with live deposit-control dosing and kidney-loop filtration.

Charge retained No outage taken

Oil & gas · Hydraulic power unit

18 → 3Valve faults per year

Servo valve sticking eliminated

Repeat sticking on directional control valves traced to soft deposit and water ingress. Dehydration plus desiccant breathers on the reservoir removed the cause rather than the symptom.

Downtime hours cut Valve spend cut

Manufacturing · Compressor fleet

4 yrsCharge life, still in service

Drain intervals replaced by condition limits

A fixed-calendar oil change schedule across a compressor fleet was replaced with condition-based change-out. Charges are now replaced on measured data, not on the calendar.

Waste oil reduced OPEX reduced

07. How an engagement runs

Four visits from first sample to steady state.

No open-ended retainers. You know at the outset what gets measured, what gets changed, and what "done" looks like.

Visit 01

Baseline audit

We sample every critical reservoir, walk the lubrication points, and return a condition report with the systems ranked by risk.

Visit 02

Intervention plan

A written scope per system: what to clean, what to dose, what hardware to fit, what it costs, and the condition target each action is aimed at.

Visit 03

Execution

Skids installed and dosing commissioned live wherever the system allows it. Where an outage is genuinely required, we say so up front.

Visit 04

Verification & handover

Re-sample, compare against the baseline, and hand your team the trending limits and sampling routine to run it themselves.

08. Why Malina

Nigerian plants, Nigerian conditions.

Humidity, dust load, grid instability and long lead times on imported spares all shorten lubricant life in ways a European service interval never accounts for. Malina Nig Ltd is registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission and operates from Lagos with field capability in the Niger Delta, so the response to a varnish alarm is measured in days, not shipping weeks.

  • Local stock of deposit-control fluid and filtration consumables.
  • Field engineers who commission on your site, not over email.
  • Reports written against ISO 4406, ASTM D7843, D2272 and D445, not vendor-private scores.
  • Full transparency on what we cannot fix chemically and needs mechanical repair.
The cheapest litre of turbine oil on any site is the litre already in the reservoir. Our job is to prove it is still fit for service, and to make it so when it is not.

Start with the data

Book an oil audit on your most critical system.

One reservoir, one sample, one report. If the oil is fit for service we will tell you that and there is nothing to sell.
