Malina Nig Ltd
A fluids company that would rather not sell you fluid.
Most of the value in an industrial lubrication programme is in the oil a plant already owns. Malina exists to prove that oil is still fit for service, keep it that way, and be honest when it no longer is.
01. What we do
Measurement first, chemistry second, hardware third.
Malina Nig Ltd is an oil, fuel and lubrication technology company registered in Nigeria with the Corporate Affairs Commission. We work on the lubricated systems that a plant cannot afford to lose: turbine lube and control oil, hydraulic power units, compressor circuits and heavy gearboxes.
The work is not fundamentally about selling fluid. It is about knowing the condition of a charge precisely enough to act on it, removing what has contaminated it, restoring what has been consumed, and telling the client plainly when the right answer is a full replacement or a mechanical repair rather than a treatment.
02. Why it matters here
Nigerian plants, Nigerian conditions.
Service intervals published for temperate European operation do not survive contact with a Nigerian plant. High ambient humidity keeps loading water into reservoirs. Harmattan dust defeats breathers that were specified for a cleaner environment. Grid instability puts standby generation through start cycles it was never scheduled for. Import lead times mean a failed component is not a two-day problem.
Every one of those factors shortens lubricant life, and none of them appear in an OEM maintenance table. A programme built locally accounts for them from the first sample.
03. How we work
The commitments we hold ourselves to.
- We measure before we recommend. No product is proposed without current condition data from the system it is intended for.
- We report against published standards. ISO 4406, ASTM D7843, D2272, D445, D664 and D6304, not a private scoring system only we can interpret.
- We say when there is nothing to sell. If a charge is healthy, the report says so and the engagement ends there.
- We separate chemical from mechanical. Cleaning oil will not fix a hot spot, an air entrainment problem or a failing cooler, and we will not imply otherwise.
- We hand the routine over. The goal is a programme your own team runs, with us on call rather than on site.
05. Common questions
What clients ask before the first visit.
Do you have to shut the machine down?
In most turbine and hydraulic systems, no. Deposit-control dosing and kidney-loop filtration are both applied to the running system. Where a system genuinely cannot be treated live, usually because there is no safe injection point or no side-stream capacity, we say so during scoping rather than after mobilising.
How quickly will we see a result?
Water and particulate respond within days of putting the right hardware on the system. Varnish takes longer, because the deposit has to come off surfaces gradually to avoid overwhelming the filters, expect a meaningful MPC reduction over 30 to 90 days depending on how much deposit has accumulated.
What if the oil turns out to be fine?
Then the report says the oil is fine, you have a documented baseline to trend against, and there is nothing further to buy. That outcome is common on well-run systems and it is a legitimate result of an audit, not a failed sales visit.
Can you work with our existing lubricant supplier?
Yes. Condition monitoring and contamination control are supplier-neutral. Where a client has a long-standing supply agreement we work alongside it, and we will always tell you if the fluid in use is genuinely unsuited to the duty.
Do you handle the used oil?
When a charge does reach end of life, we will advise on compliant disposal or reclamation routes. The larger point of the programme is to make that event rare, every charge kept in service is oil that never becomes waste.

Start with one reservoir and one report.
The audit tells you whether there is a programme worth running. If there is not, we will say so.
